ANNUAL FUND

SUPPORT THE PLACE YOU TREASURE BY GUIDING YOUR GIVING

Bok Tower Gardens offers many opportunities to make the world a bit better and more beautiful by inspiring visitors with a sanctuary amid the hustle bustle of daily life. As a garden, bird sanctuary, and refuge for wildlife and mankind, the Gardens are sustained by the generosity of donors like you.

We invite you to support the area in the Gardens you value most through our program funds, which provide for the day-to-day expenses of delivering a place of sanctuary and repose to the electrically-driven people of America.

Tax-deductible gifts of $250 or more will be celebrated on the annual donor list and in the Chao Exhibit Hall.

A BIT BETTER FUND

A Bit Better Fund

Inspired by Mr. Bok’s vision to “make the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it,” this unrestricted fund allows the Gardens to carry out his legacy.

Edward Bok entrusted Bok Tower Gardens to the people of America in 1929. For nearly 100 years, the Gardens have provided a space for people to slow down, relax, and reconnect with the natural world. A National Historic Landmark, the Gardens are now nurtured through the generosity of philanthropists like you.

EDUCATION FUND

Education Fund

Support programming that challenges visitors to engage in hands-on experiences that inspire lifelong connections with the world around them.

By amplifying the visitor experience through creative and engaging learning programs, we foster a deep connection to nature, music, art, culture, and history. Experiential learning programs that are inclusive of people of all ages, abilities, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds, allow the Gardens to remain relevant in an ever-changing world.

EL RETIRO FUND

EL Retiro Fund

Help inspire visitors to experience the iconic 1930s lifestyle through exquisite Mediterranean architecture and breathtaking Olmsted gardens.

Built as a winter home in Mountain Lake for steel magnate Charles Austin Buck, the 20-room home is one of the finest examples of Mediterranean-style architecture in the Southeast. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the estate features courtyards, fountains, a stone grotto, and moon gate.

GARDEN FUND

Garden Fund

Ensure the gardens are bursting with life to create a peaceful environment where vibrant plantings and chirping birds evoke quiet repose.

Horticultural artistry, built on the original Olmsted Jr. designs, have inspired and delighted millions of visitors. The world-renowned gardens provide food and shelter for migrating birds and other wildlife, including Florida’s endangered gopher tortoises. Envisioned by Mr. Bok as “a sanctuary for birds and humans,” the contemplative and informal woodland setting provides for leisurely strolls and enlightening moments.

PINE RIDGE PRESERVE FUND

Pine Ridge Preserve Fund

Ensure the magnificent views and serenity experienced from the summit are preserved and protected.

Continued and rapid acquisition of land and conservation easements will allow our historic views to remain as they were nearly 100 years ago. Visitors delight in our vast trail network of hiking paths through one of Florida’s most endangered ecosystems.

RARE PLANT CONSERVATION FUND

Conservation Fund

Support research and rescue operations to prevent extinction of rare plants found on the Lake Wales Ridge and throughout Florida.

Our management of preserved lands enhances the views and improves the biodiversity of Florida’s relic sand dunes, known as the Lake Wales Ridge area. As a participating member of the nationwide Center for Plant Conservation, Bok Tower Gardens preserves threatened and endangered flora by safeguarding living and seed collections. Nearly 30 rare Florida plant species are protected and showcased in the Endangered Plant Garden.
