Inspired by the Beauty of Pinewood Estate

Did you know the beautiful tiles at Pinewood Estate were hand-painted and fired in Tunisia over eight decades ago? A cultural and historical treasure, these tiles represent an element of artistry that is often difficult to reproduce with our modern interiors.

As stewards of this magnificent home, the Bok Tower Gardens team was delighted by a recent project inspired by Pinewood’s beauty.

Wanting to incorporate some of Pinewood Estate’s history into their home, two Mountain Lake residents approached Leslie Thomas from The Shop at Bok about a possible project.

Together, they chose the iconic blue and white pattern found on the garden bench near the top terrace and circle drive. This style is extremely popular with many designers as the contrasting color and patterns are timeless and work in various looks and themes.

Using Leslie’s talents, the homeowners recreated the striking blue and white tile for an installation around their pool area. She spent months working with different tile manufacturer to get the perfect shading and detail on the replica.

The replica tiles created a perfect contrast to the stately white columns surrounding the homeowner’s spectacular pool lanai. Aside from the beautiful aesthetic, this new installation is a great focal point for sharing Pinewood Estate’s history with their friends and family.

The homeowners are thrilled with the final project, and now Pinewood Estate has another chapter to add to its history.
