What Can We Do About Climate Change?

Scientists agree that we can halt the rising temperatures, but only if we take action decisively and quickly. What are the needed actions? Come see for yourself using EN-ROADS, a global climate simulator that allows users to explore the impact that dozens of policies—such as electrifying transport, pricing carbon, and improving agricultural practices—have on hundreds of factors like energy prices, temperature, air quality, and sea level rise.

Doctor Kathie Sutherland was born in St. Petersburg FL, leaving to attend college at Emory, graduate school in organic chemistry at Harvard, and then medical school at Stanford. She practiced Ob-Gyn for 34 years in Silicon Valley, CA, and then retired in 2015 to Winter Haven FL. In her retirement, she has become passionate about environmental issues, working with a number of local environmental groups as well as national groups. She recently started a non-profit, Polk Clean Energy Alliance, which is dedicated to educating the public about ways they can help the environment while also helping themselves.
