Learn about plants that grow well in Florida that also produce vibrant natural pigments used for dyes, inks, and paints. This hands-on workshop will explore several plants in detail including growing, harvesting, saving their seeds and how to work with their unique natural pigments. Students will practice making ink and watercolor paint, and have plenty of time to create art with these vibrant plant pigments. This class is for everyone! For those who love plants, art, creativity or just learning new ways to connect with the plants around us. No prior skills or knowledge are required. Come as you are! All supplies are provided. Students will go home with a detailed instructional handout, small samples of inks and paints and artworks they create. If you have a sketchbook or paint brushes that you like, feel free to bring them but it is not necessary.
