“Fairsted – The Olmsted Homestead: The People, Programs and Resources at Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site”

Presenter bios:

Brianne Cassetta (University of Southern California, BA, Anthropology; George Mason University, MA, Anthropology) began her National Park Service career at the Washington Support Office, History Department, working on the Oral History Project. Moving out into the parks, Brianne took on her first ranger position at George Washington Memorial Parkway, serving 15 unique sites including the Marine Corps War Memorial and Theodore Roosevelt Island. At Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site, where she currently serves as Supervisory Park Ranger, Brianne works with the general public, community partners, youth organizations, and local schools to share and discover the many stories of the Olmsted legacy.

Anthony Reed (UC Santa Barbara, BA, Sociology/Women’s Studies; Simmons College, MLS, Archival Management Concentration) joined the National Park Service in 2000, after a series of grant-funded and consultant positions managing archival collections. As a member of the Olmsted site’s Curatorial Division, Anthony participates in collections documentation, manages numerous collections databases and works heavily with the digitization efforts at the site, while also providing reference services on special research projects. He has also served on the region’s Museum Emergency Response Team (MERT), helping in the response to disasters and recovery of museum collections at Death Valley, Ellis Island and Flight 93 National Memorial.

Please Note:

Ticket price includes general admission to the Gardens. Tickets are available for purchase at www.boktower.org, in person at the Visitor Center or by phone at 863-734-1222. All programs and classes promptly begin at stated time and visitors are encouraged to arrive at least 10 minutes before class begins for check-in. Check-in begins 30 minutes prior to the class start time. Culinary events are demonstration based and late arrivals may not be accommodated. For classes held after 5 pm, the entrance gate will stay open for an additional 30 minutes after the start time. Once the gate closes, late arrivals will not be admitted. Due to the nature of culinary events held at the Outdoor Kitchen, Bok Tower Garden may attempt, but cannot guarantee, to accommodate food allergies. Dogs are not permitted at any educational program.

The Spring Wine Walk is at capacity.

Tickets are not available for purchase upon arrival.

Wine Walk will be back in Fall 2023.
