An Evening with Muriel Anderson

Muriel Anderson is a guitarist, harp-guitarist and composer who embraces music from all over the world with grace, joy and gentle humor. If you’re not already familiar with Muriel, you will find yourself smiling when you feel the joy of her music shining through an array of styles.

Muriel is the first woman to have won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. Her CD, “Nightlight Daylight”, was chosen as one of the top 10 CDs of the decade by Guitar Player Magazine, and her “Heartstrings” recording accompanied the astronauts on the space shuttle. Among those she has performed/recorded with are Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Victor Wooten, Tommy Emmanuel and the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. Muriel was also named one of the top 50 acoustic guitarists of all time by Guitar Player Magazine.

Muriel’s multimedia show takes you on a journey in music and stories, with a backdrop of visuals artfully projected behind her. It is a musical journey through space, the seas and around the world with visuals by celebrated photo-artist Bryan Allen.

A recent project is Muriel’s double CD and book “The Optimism Collection”. It features music and visuals drawn from a huge variety of inspirations. Her “Acoustic Chef” is a CD of music from around the world with a cookbook of recipes and stories to go with each tune. Muriel is excited about her most recent album release which includes a Board Game “Sailing Dreams”. The music of “Sailing Dreams” was inspired by a sailing trip from Long Island, New York to Penobscot Bay, Maine—the trip that you will be taking in the Sailing Dreams game while listening to the music.

Muriel is host of the renowned Muriel Anderson’s ALL STAR GUITAR NIGHT® and founder of the MUSIC FOR LIFE ALLIANCE charity.
