Experience a night of music performed by three incredible Asian-American musicians. The moonlight recital will begin with Dr. Fen-Fang Chen and will end with a carillon concert performed by Annie Gao and Margaret Pan. The Olmsted Gardens will twinkle with luminaries and visitors can purchase a floating lantern to launch into the Singing Tower’s Moat.

Fen-Fang Chen—A Short Bio
Fen-Fang Chen, associate professor, serves as director of piano and keyboard studies at Florida Southern College and serves on the Board of Regents of the National Music Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lamba.
Dr. Chen completed two doctoral degrees at the University of Mississippi, a Doctor of Arts in Piano Pedagogy and a Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education; a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at Indiana State University; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Traditional Chinese Music at the Chinese Culture University in Taipei Taiwan, with the pipa as her major instrument. She also taught at various colleges, including the University of Mississippi, Birmingham-Southern College, Miles College, and Indiana State University.
As an active performer, Dr. Chen frequently performs both instruments, the piano and the pipa (a traditional Chinese lute instrument). Her most recent recital, Pipa and Piano: Eastern Music, Western Music, and Everything In-Between, took place on February 27, 2024, and was for a Faculty Artist Series at Florida Southern College. With a strong interest in efficient and effective methods of teaching and practicing piano, Dr. Chen has presented her research studies at national, state, and regional conferences, and she received the Outstanding Professional Research Poster Award from the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy at the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy.
