IFAS Community Garden – Erv Hannan

In this photo released from the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, Erv Hannan, a retired general contractor from Wisconsin whose son attends UF, harvests cauliflower from his garden plot on the school’s main campus in Gainesville – Tuesday, March 17, 2009. The gardens are free for anyone to plant, tend and harvest, as long as no chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used. UF experts say interest in vegetable gardening is on the rise, prompted at least in part by the weak economy.
