Things To Know
Almost 100 years ago, Edward Bok created Bok Tower Gardens as a place to escape the electrically driven world. Today this invitation is more relevant than ever. Being in nature is not merely nice, it is vital to our wellbeing. The restorative powers of nature are well documented and include making us happier, healthier and more creative. If you have ever noticed feeling calmer after a walk in nature, you know the natural world can be your partner for growth and healing. Walking for Wellbeing is a free program at Bok Tower Gardens for members that immerses participants in nature through a series of self-guided walks. Each walk is built around the following themes: awe, awareness, kindness, gratitude, wonder, and interdependence. The walks correspond to various locations around the Garden. After attending a mandatory Orientation Zoom meeting and receiving Walking for Wellbeing instructions, participants complete their walks during operating hours of the Garden, as their own schedules permit. We also request that you attend a midway check-in and a concluding meeting.
