Things To Know

Included with general admission and free to members.

Our state animal, the Florida panther, is inching closer to recovery. For the first time in decades, females were discovered north of the Caloosahatchee River, with kittens! With approximately 200 panthers in Florida, the population is on the rise. Nonetheless, there are still fewer panthers than Siberian tigers or snow leopards, and they are facing many challenges in the coming years. Come learn about the past, present and future of the panther recovery effort with Christian Hunt, Southeast Program Associate for Defenders of Wildlife, Wednesday, February 7th at 12 PM. Included with general admission and free to members.
