Chai Masala Canaglia was born in the US, but raised on northern Italian mountains just outside Venice. Daughter of a chef and sommelier, she grew up in a house where good traditional food and wine were the ingredients for perfect family moments.

While breathing in the restaurant life, many were the meals prepared side by side. Daughter, father and grandmother, each learning from one another. It was also thanks to her grandfather, Angelo, that Chai and her parents started gardening and growing year round crops to sustain part of the restaurant needs. Years went by and the love for cooking never left, while another passion kept getting stronger: Nature.

After graduating from Facolta’ di Agraria in Padua with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Horticulture, she decided it was time to go back to her origins, Florida. A couple of gardening positions led her to Bok Tower Gardens, were she currently works as Pinewood Residence’s gardener. Self love, respect for the environment and compassion for all of Mother Earth’s beings are her golden rules that she applies in her everyday life, striving to make a difference.
