The Platinum Seal is the highest level of recognition for fiscal responsibility and transparency offered to nonprofit organizations by GuideStar, the most prestigious of the nonprofit watchdog groups. The GuideStar database contains a profile for every tax-exempt nonprofit registered with the IRS. Fewer than 1% of the 1.8 million nonprofit organizations recognized through the site have attained the Platinum level designation.
